Dallas: The Connect City Design Challenge
Ricardo Bofill Taller de Arquitectura has been selected for the Connect Dallas Design Challenge, which intends to connect Downtown Dallas to the Trinity River. Through this competition, the City of Dallas aims to build awareness, provide solutions and manifest a specific strategy for connecting the city to the water and securing private and public development. The aim is to give the river back to the city, promoting livability and sustainability, while resolving the current infrastructural scars that divide the city from the River. The effort is to create a 20 mile corridor and 10,000 acres of public, recreational space.
Connect Dallas Design Challenge is organized by the Trinity Trust Foundation, The Real Estate Council Foundation, Downtown Dallas, Inc. and The Real Estate Council Foundation. Fellow competitors for the professional stream include OMA and Stoss Landscape Urbanism. Projects will be presented on October 22, 2013 at the Dallas Museum of Art.
